KMI Transfer Day - ROOTS Session (conducted by the KMI/ROOTS project at InfAI)

- | Room 260 | German

Isabell Maue (Institute for Applied Informatics) and Jennifer Weiß (Institute for Applied Informatics)

Employee participation is a key success factor for successful change processes. This workshop shows how it can be implemented in practice. After an introduction to the theoretical background of participatory change processes, a practical example is used to illustrate how employee participation can contribute to successful organizational design. In the main part of the workshop, participants use a participation canvas to work out how participation can be designed in their own organization. The following key questions are addressed:

  • Which participation formats are suitable for our organizational structure?
  • How can employees be involved and where are the limits of their influence?
  • What prerequisites and resources are necessary to implement participation?

Digital participation in NPOs: Introduction and practice with the ROOTS participation platform (conducted by the KMI/ROOTS project at InfAI)

- | Room 260 | German

Juan Castillo (Institute for Applied Informatics) and Vanita Römer (Institute for Applied Informatics)

The workshop presents the browser-based and free platform Beteiligung-ROOTS, which enables digital participation in organizations and associations. The focus is on the design of digitally supported participation processes for internal change and transformation projects. Building on theoretical approaches and practical examples in the NPO context, participants learn about the functions and possible applications of the platform and test them on site. Finally, participants will develop their own participation formats and promote cross-organizational exchange.
